The German website Transfermarkt has published the market value of LigaPro, which as of February 2021 is estimated at 167.15 million euros, close to 202.7 million dollars.
This value is considered based on transfer data, club market balances, and above all, the market value of the 460 players that the website registers in the 16 clubs of the top national division.
Among the local squads, Barcelona has the highest cost, with 23.5 million dollars, followed by the rosters of Liga de Quito (22.4) and Emelec (17.5).
Four other squads surpass the 10 million dollar mark: Independiente del Valle, Universidad Católica, Deportivo Cuenca, and Macará, ranging from 12.9 to 10.2 million.
The newly promoted Manta FC has the lowest market value roster, according to this estimation, with 6.03 million, and along with Mushuc Runa (6.5) and Olmedo (6.9), they are the teams at the bottom of this ranking, with values that do not exceed 7 million.
Among the teams with the most signings for this season is 9 de Octubre, another one of the promoted clubs for 2021, which reaches 7.7 million as the value of their roster. Aucas is another squad with numerous signings, placing them in ninth position in this ranking with 9.45 million.
Most Valuable Players
The players with the highest market value are divided between albos [Liga de Quito] and toreros [Barcelona], according to the portal.
The Paraguayan forward Luis Amarilla is the most expensive, with an estimated value of 2.42 million dollars. Amarilla will wear white this season, after his time in the MLS.
The second highest, and the first in the list of the best-valued Ecuadorian players, is Fernando León, a signing for Barcelona in 2021. The defender has a value of 1.81 million.
The Colombian forward Cristian Martínez (Liga), the forward Carlos Garcés (Barcelona), and Jhojan Julio (Liga) complete the top 5, while another 20 players remain with values above one million dollars.
The Transfermarkt report includes 100 players with values over 500,000 euros, around 606,320 dollars, in which their respective signings are valued. (D)
