Quito -
The criticisms of the organization of the Ecuador Supercup persist, this time it was Pablo Repetto, DT of Liga de Quito, who spoke about the preparation times for the clubs that will participate in a tournament, "put together on the fly" and without taking into account the sporting aspect, as the Uruguayan pointed out.
"The timing is not right," said Repetto, who emphasized the recovery that the squads must have after the conclusion of the LigaPro in the last week of 2020 and the deadline until the tournament starts on February 4th.
"The timing is not ideal after the string of matches and the difficulties that arose in the previous season (due to the pandemic). From a sporting point of view, if you ask the coaches of the participating teams, I think that we would all like more preparation time because it is very difficult to arrive in an optimal condition. It becomes complicated," said the strategist to Huancavilca radio.
Barcelona, Emelec, Independiente del Valle, and Liga de Quito were invited to this tournament, which the Ecuafútbol leadership itself has defined as a friendly competition, and which has encountered complications for its development.
"These are issues that were put together on the fly, I think that if there had been prior discussion, it would have been clearer from the sporting perspective, which is what concerns me," he expressed.
Repetto also pointed out economic issues as the ones that prevailed in organizing this tournament.
"It is a difficult moment for everyone, there are priorities and the economic aspect is not exempt from that, I think it goes hand in hand, that's why these decisions that may not be ideal from the sporting standpoint," he said. (D)
