President of Guayaquil City, Iván Mendoza, talks about corruption in Ecuadorian football arbitration
The President of Guayaquil City, Iván Mendoza, referred to Carlos Manzur's statements regarding alleged corruption in Ecuadorian football arbitration. The executive asserts that Manzur is "wrong" when he claims that to eliminate corruption, one must end the corruptor. Additionally, he stated that the club has already filed a formal complaint about Diego Lara's controversial refereeing in the match that ended in a 1-1 draw against Macará at Bellavista.
"To me, Manzur is mistaken. The only way to fight against corruption is by exposing everything. Both the corruptors and the corrupted. I think he should have been more specific in his statements. It's not right to leave these issues in the air and speak in general terms. Today, with that phrase, all directors would be involved in the same situation," Mendoza stated in an interview with EL UNIVERSO.
Regarding the formal complaint filed by the club, Mendoza indicated that they "will wait for a response." (D)
