Denis Dau: Among many discouraging news, there is one that will cheer up the fan.

Lately, disagreements have arisen that have had leadership as their protagonist.

Lately, disagreements have arisen that have had leadership as their protagonist.

Recently and perhaps due to the moments of tension and nervousness that the world is experiencing, our country included in the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, disagreements have arisen that have had leadership as their protagonist. Among those cases are Fedeguayas, which is still intervened; Ecuafútbol, which is in a dilemma and still without knowing Conmebol's resolution; LigaPro, which expects to define the game format for the rest of the year this Monday, the 22nd; the internal disputes within the senior national football team, which does not know the whereabouts of its coach; the exchanges of pejorative expressions between leaders due to the lack of football on the field; the audit in Barcelona's store; delays in financial allocations to entities and athletes; late payment to referees and so many inaccuracies immersed in the sport. The only solution to these widely spread negative news is dialogue, there is no other formula.

Before these shortcomings, a highly praiseworthy news has emerged and has gone around the world, officially announcing that Conmebol has considered a good number of stadiums from several countries and, in the case of Ecuador, two icons: the Casa Blanca stadium of Liga de Quito, to host the coveted Copa Sudamericana, and the Monumental stadium of Barcelona, where the important Copa Libertadores will be defined; both stadiums have applied to host the editions of 2021, 2022, and 2023. This announcement makes fans jump for joy and, being held in our country, we will witness unforgettable matches.

These two local fields have been protagonists in finals, let's remember that in the Monumental, Barcelona faced the Paraguayan team Olimpia in 1990 and the Brazilian team Vasco de Gama in 1998 for the Copa Libertadores; in summary, the Ídolo has two runner-up titles. At Casa Blanca, the prestigious LDU de Quito team competed against Fluminense for the Copa Libertadores in 2008 and became champions; in the 2009 Sudamericana, they became champions; in 2011, they were runners-up, and in two editions of the Recopa, in 2009 and 2010, they won both. In total, four titles and one runner-up.

It is time and moment, in these types of competitions, for a team from Guayaquil to honor us with the champion title.

No more words... (O)
