On Tuesday night, the Mexican club Tijuana officially announced the signing of Ecuadorian forward José Angulo Enrique Angulo, who was banned in 2016 for doping.
"The first reinforcement has arrived at La Jauría, José Angulo is Xoloitzcuintle!" was the message posted on the team's social media.
- José Angulo is not part of Tijuana's squad, he only trains under the orders of Gustavo Quinteros.
Angulo will serve his suspension until July 20th and was training at the club where nationals Miler Bolaños and Brayan Angulo are, and until this month was led by Gustavo Quinteros, former coach of Emelec and the Ecuadorian national team.

Last May, Barcelona and Liga de Quito showed interest in acquiring the player's services, however, this did not materialize.
José Angulo was the figure of Independiente del Valle when, in 2016, they surprised everyone and reached the final of the Copa Libertadores; leaving giants like River Plate and Boca Juniors behind, defeating the latter 3-1 at La Bombonera.
But due to a positive doping test -for cocaine- at the same time his transfer to Spanish club Granada was being finalized, Angulo was banned for a year. However, FIFA intervened and the player's sanction was increased to 4 years.
