Start of the week for Aucas with the arrival of a new head coach and the departure of forward Edson Montaño.
Montaño was involved in a swap deal with Independiente del Valle for forward Alejandro Cabeza, with both players being loaned for a year with purchase options for both parties.
"We reached an agreement with the two teams' management. I liked the idea, Independiente is competing for important things and has an international tournament, that caught my attention because my desire is to play the Copa Libertadores," said the 29-year-old forward.
"I talked to coach Miguel Ángel Ramírez about my arrival and what he wants from me, it's an interesting project," Montaño pointed out, leaving the eastern side after the last four seasons with the club.

Darío Tempesta took over the management of Aucas yesterday, the Argentine coach replaces Máximo Villafañe, who left the club for "personal reasons," according to the board's version.
The coach arrives for the third time in four years to the gold and red dugout, and in this new cycle, he must start by strengthening the squad after the departure of a group of players, including goalkeeper Fernando Fernández and defenders Édison Carcelén and Argentine Tomás Oneto. The position is currently being filled by a foreign player, according to the new coach of the capital's idol.
About Montaño's departure, Tempesta said he knows "what the player represents," but he pointed out that the arrival of the forward from Sangolqui can help the Easterners.
