That yesterday, from the 50s to the 90s, the youth would gather calmly on the street corners of the neighborhoods (...)

This is one of thousands of stories that our Guayaquil has, how did it happen? A non-working day - Sunday - was passing through various streets and neighborhoods, everything was deserted, cool weather and an almost cloudy sky, there came to mind the following phrase: "how beautiful yesterday was!"

That yesterday, from the 50s to the 90s, youth gathered calmly on the street corners of the neighborhoods, conversing and in those gatherings friendships were built and football and indor teams were formed, and after the conversation, they walked with six to eight friends to nearby or distant blocks to play the popular sport invented in Ecuador called indor.

How not to remember those matches in areas of Cinco Esquinas, Puerto Lisa, La Chala, Morumbí, Parque de la Madre, Luq-San, La Victoria, Atarazana, Cristo del Consuelo, Boca 9, Barrio de los Negritos, Las Peñas, Garay, Mercado Oeste, Parque Chile, El Astillero, Parque Centenario, Cuba, Mercado Del Sur, El Camal, and so many interalleys where all you needed was a ball and two stones as a goal, the balls were made with the socks of mothers or grandmothers. What a time it was!

How not to evoke the neighborhood leagues, Spencer, Salem, Huancavilca, Norero, Ecuador, Félix, Calle, Ponce Enríquez, Guayas, and others where kids, young people, and adults acted, and from those tournaments, talents emerged for professional clubs, and yes, fights also occurred where bare-fist fights broke out, referees ran out in moments due to their mistaken decisions and after a few hours, everything was calm and, of course, it was played outdoors and with dusty fields. Times to remember.

How not to also recall when a team won a championship, the neighborhood celebration lasted two days, the area woke up decorated, moments of joy became like celebrating a birthday.

Yesterday everything was different. How times change!...
