Ecuadorian Dixon Arroyo scored the second goal for Emelec against Blooming. The match for the first phase of the Copa Sudamericana was played at the Ramón Aguilera Costas stadium in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
In the 87th minute, Jefferson Caicedo took a corner kick and left the ball on a plate for Arroyo. The midfielder headed powerfully towards Rubén Cordano's goal to score the second of the match.
The other two goals for Emelec were scored by Facundo Barceló. The Uruguayan opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a superb shot after a deep pass from Robert Burbano. The third goal came in the 90+4 minute, taking advantage of a rebound and shooting towards the left post.
Emelec won 3-0 against Blooming in the first phase of the Copa Sudamericana. The second leg match will be played on Thursday, February 20 at 5:15 p.m. (Peruvian and Ecuadorian time, 6:15 p.m. in Bolivia) at the George Capwell stadium, better known as 'La Caldera' in Guayaquil.
