Quito -
At the end of the season, FIFA announced the compilation of the top 10 goals of 2019, and among those chosen by the governing body of world football is the goal scored by Ecuadorian midfielder José Cifuentes in the Under-20 World Cup in Poland, a tournament in which the Mini-Tri finished third.
On June 8, the player from Esmeraldas scored against the United States in the quarter-finals of the U-20 World Cup. In the end, the match ended with a 2-1 victory for the Tricolor, and that goal was chosen as the best of the tournament "by an overwhelming majority", FIFA's website reported.
"Cifuentes ran alone and unleashed a powerful shot from outside the area that found the back of the net," described the organization about the Ecuadorian's achievement.

The list begins with the winner of the Puskás Award, Hungarian Dániel Zsóri (18 years old), and his goal against Ferencváros, playing for Debrecen, in February.
Cifuentes follows (June) in a list that is ordered by months, until December 18 with Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo's header goal against Sampdoria, in Juventus' 2-1 victory.
The Women's World Cup, the Men's U-17 World Cup, the Beach Soccer World Cup, and especially European leagues are other tournaments that contribute goals to this list, all "signed as true works of art," FIFA highlighted. (D)
