In addition, a few days ago, the celestial club announced the renewal of the contract with midfielder Mario Rizotto and goalkeeper Carlos Espinoza.
Paul Vélez will continue as the head coach. The Ecuadorian took over the team in 2016 in the Serie B and promoted them as champions.
Later, under Vélez's leadership, Macará qualified for the Copa Libertadores in 2018 and the Sudamericana in 2019. This year, Macará was the best team in the regular phase under Vélez's guidance, but was eliminated in the playoffs and will play in the Libertadores from the playoffs. (D)
