Sadness in the Football World
There is sadness not only in our country, but in all nations of the world due to the passing of Ferdinand Hidalgo Rojas, who in his lifetime formulated with his knowledge in football and sports laws to be one of the most knowledgeable people on earth.
A character of short stature, but with a strong character; simple in his expressions, but with words that carried deep orientations; he guided with his personality to be distinguished as a member/director of Ecuadorian and FIFA soccer, in this ecumenical organization he shone with his lofty suggestions that were applauded and practiced in their form and essence.
While leading the Ecuadorian Football Federation, CS Emelec, and on numerous occasions in defense of the country's football interests, his observations were applauded and respected, and once analyzed, they were proven right. Without being an expert in sports legislation, he was elevated with dignity by being an honest and principled professional. His absence will always be lamented, but natural life has a final sigh. Ferdinand always appreciated and identified with the Interbarrial de Diario EL UNIVERSO; his management before FIFA was so influential that he made it possible for the youth tournament to be certified as the "Greatest in the World" in the year 2000.
