The 22-year-old French racing driver Anthoine Hubert died after being involved in an accident in a Formula 2 race at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. The tragedy's footage was published on YouTube.
The terrible accident occurred in the second lap of the race and also involved the American-Ecuadorian driver Juan Manuel Correa, who was hospitalized with leg fractures, and the Japanese driver Marino Sato, who was unharmed.
The unfortunate accident took place in one of the fastest sections of the Belgian circuit, where the track rises sharply after a descent.
The press conferences scheduled after the Formula 1 qualifying session were canceled even before the news of Anthoine Hubert's death was known.
On the other hand, 20-year-old Juan Manuel Correa was born in Quito, Ecuador, but competes with an American license. He currently ranks twelfth in this season's F2.
