James Rodríguez entered the second half of Olympiacos vs. OFI. The midfielder came on with the aim of changing the face of the team, which was losing 0-1, and had a golden opportunity with a penalty, but missed (53′). However, he took revenge minutes later.
In the 58th minute, the Colombian footballer grabbed the ball and made a filtered pass to Garry Mendes who took a powerful shot. The powerful shot was impossible to stop for goalkeeper Christos Mandas, and thus, the score became 1-1.
The goal motivated Olympiacos, who went in search of victory and, after several attempts, achieved it. In the 81st minute, Cédric Bakambu scored the winning goal that places James Rodríguez's team in second place in the league with 14 points.
It is worth mentioning that the '10' reappeared after several matchdays. The player had played in the FIFA international break with the Colombian national team, starting in the matches against Guatemala and Mexico, but suffered an injury due to physical strain. Precisely, Míchel González, coach of the 'Rojiblancos', had revealed that the former Real Madrid player would not be available.
Because of this, James could not be present in the 2-0 victory against Atromitos at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus. The same happened against Qarabag in the Europa League, which ended in a 0-3 defeat for Olympiacos.
