The Peruvian national team is preparing for two key matches in the Qualifiers against Bolivia in La Paz and Venezuela in Lima. Today, through the Bicolor's social media, they announced the withdrawal of one of the sports promises due to an injury.
It is the defender of Sporting Cristal, Rafael Lutiger, who due to a bilateral plantar fasciitis injury, will not be able to participate in the double date of the Qualifiers.
As it is known, 22-year-old defender Rafael Lutiger was called up by Peruvian coach Juan Reynoso as part of the local team members. After being analyzed by the medical department, they decided to remove him for his prompt recovery.
Lutiger played 22 games with Sporting Cristal in the Liga 1. In the Copa Libertadores, he played 7 matches and one in the Copa Sudamericana.
Homegrown with Sporting Cristal, Rafael Lutiger is a player with projection. He has a contract with the Rimense institution until the end of 2025.
The Peruvian national team will face Bolivia in La Paz on Thursday, November 16, at 3:00 p.m. for the fifth round of the Qualifiers. Then, five days later, on Tuesday, they will host Venezuela in Lima.
