Sporting Cristal participated in the Evo Cup for the second time
Sporting Cristal is one of the national clubs that prioritizes its youth academies for the future. In that line, recently, the U17 team participated in the Evo Cup 2023 in Bolivia against great South American teams such as Boca Juniors from Argentina, Nacional from Uruguay, and teams from the Altiplano country. After making their debut in the group stage, Sporting Cristal's U17 team achieved two victories, with a 4-0 score, against The Strongest and Boliviar. On the other hand, they finished that stage with a defeat (3-0) against Academia Puerto Cabello from Venezuela.
Meanwhile, after advancing to the next round, the promises of the club faced Nacional from Uruguay in the quarterfinals and Always Ready from Bolivia in the semis.
Unfortunately, the Bolivian team was able to convert their goal opportunities better and ended up surpassing Sporting Cristal, who ended their participation last Saturday, September 16.

This year, Sporting Cristal's U17 team participated for the second consecutive time, however, they were eliminated in the semifinals. On the other hand, in 2022, they said goodbye to the tournament after losing 2-0 against Boca Juniors.
