On the other hand, the 'Bicolor' team comes from a painful 2-0 defeat against 'La Roja' (Chile), in a match that surprised many due to the initial approach of Peruvian coach, Juan Reynoso.
In a press conference, the 'Cabezón' (Reynoso) took responsibility for the loss at the Monumental Stadium in Santiago, and also spoke about the criticism he received based on the national team's performance.
"I'm not interested in assigning blame, I'm more interested in having the players convinced. Today is a very sad day for everyone because we expected a different match and we didn't interpret it as we expected. I am responsible for this and I have no problem admitting it and facing it," said Reynoso to Movistar Deportes.
The Argentinian newspaper, Diario Olé, was not oblivious to the declarations of the Peruvian national team's coach and published a headline that made news: "Peru's coach's brutal honesty about Argentina: 'It's a really tough pill to swallow'", they clarified.
"Reynoso was categorical after the defeat against Chile and now he faces the national team: "May this tough blow serve as fuel for us", they concluded.
