Manchester United Statement
"Lisandro Martínez will be out of action for an extended period due to a worsening of the foot injury he suffered in April. It has now been determined that he needs a period of rest for recovery and rehabilitation. Evaluation is ongoing to decide the next steps," said on Friday about the Argentine, who would be out for 3 or 4 months.
'He needs time to come back'
It was his own coach, Erik Ten Hag, in the preview of the match, who revealed that a discomfort suffered by Martínez may have resurfaced and he needs rest to prevent it from worsening.
"He is injured. One more. He had a problem, he recovered, but he needs some preparation before returning. We are waiting for the medical report," mentioned the Dutch coach.
