The tournament will start on May 20th and would have the 'Albiceleste' among its participants despite not having achieved qualification in the Sudamericano.

Argentina will assume the organization of the Under 20 World Cup after the withdrawal of Indonesia, the press of that country assured this Thursday after Gianni Infantino's participation in the Ordinary Congress of the CONMEBOL in Luque, where the FIFA president described the proposal of the 'Albiceleste' country to host the tournament as "very strong".

According to TyC Sports and other media outlets, the event will be handed over to Argentina by decision of the governing body of football, which will officially announce the change of venue in the coming days.

In this way, the event would have the Argentine Under 20 national team as one of its participants despite not having qualified in the South American competition.

FIFA decided to withdraw Indonesia as the host country of the Under 20 World Cup, which was supposed to bring together 24 teams from May 20 to June 11 in the Southeast Asian archipelago. This is after the political imbroglio that led the organization to cancel the tournament draw scheduled for Friday, March 31. Through a statement, FIFA announced that it will communicate the new host "as soon as possible".
