Marciano Cantero, leader of the band 'Enanitos Verdes', passed away this Thursday, September 8, at the age of 62, in Mendoza, Argentina.
The musician had been hospitalized since the end of August at the Clínica de Cuyo in the City of Mendoza. Doctors detected a "kidney condition" and his health worsened on Wednesday, September 7.
Javier Cantero, Marciano's son, spoke to the press to announce his famous father's death: "Unfortunately, he could not overcome the complications. I want to personally thank all the fans, all the friends of life, the family, all the prayers, and the support we have received these days. I also want to thank the Clínica de Cuyo because they were absolute geniuses... I also can't help but be happy for the great man he was and for all the love he received in these days."
"After the surgery, there were not-so-good moments, but today he was a little better, although the situation was critical. The truth is that the outlook was not good," he added.
Finally, Marciano Cantero's son said how he would like the public to remember his father. "I want them to remember him not only as the composer, the singer, and the artist he was, but also as a wonderful person and my best friend in the world," he expressed.
