World Egg Day
On Friday, October 11th, we celebrate World Egg Day. It has been celebrated since 1996 in 153 countries and is promoted by the International Egg Commission.
On this day, we present a list of some of the football players who have been nicknamed 'Egg'.
'Egg' Ruiz
César Ruíz, also known as 'Huevito', was part of Juan José Oré's team that reached the Under-17 World Cup in 2017. He made his debut in Sporting Cristal and currently plays for Cultural Santa Rosa in Liga 2.
'Egg' Guevgeozián
The Uruguayan-born Armenian forward, Mauro Guevgeozián, came to Peru in 2013 to play for Alianza Lima. Due to the mispronunciation of his name, he started being called 'Huevo'. However, the player didn't like his new nickname and repeatedly asked to be called 'Armenio'.
'Egg' Toresani
The former footballer from River Plate and Boca Juniors, Julio César Toresani, was known for his clashes with Diego Armando Maradona. He was called 'Huevo' and passed away in April 2019.
'Egg' Acuña
Marcos Acuña, an Argentine player and member of Sporting de Lisboa in Portugal, is known by his nickname 'Huevo' and can play in any position on the left side.
