The DT of Estudiantes, Lucas Bernardi, spoke after noon in a press conference where he analyzed the reinforcements that were incorporated in this transfer window, how he perceives the team's game and the short-term goals he intends to achieve.
Bernardi began by referring to the preseason work, which he described as "very good and without any problems". The DT emphasized that "the team has grown and the players as well. We finished a short but very intense preseason."
Regarding the reinforcements, he highlighted that he is satisfied with the additions made during this transfer window, including Murillo, Escobar, Giménez, and Noguera, who wore the albirroja shirt. "I am happy because players who can contribute to the squad have been incorporated and because the team has developed well," he emphasized.
"What the reinforcements allow us is to have the possibility of rotation and to increase internal competition," continued Bernardi, who hinted that there are no undisputed starters. "I will analyze each game to determine the best option for that match," he specified.
One area in which the DT knows that Estudiantes must improve is in the attacking work. "I would like us to improve the decision-making in the final meters in order to define the play, which is the most difficult part of football," he remarked, referring to an aspect that the squad worked on extensively during the preseason.
Estudiantes trained at the Country of City Bell early today. The practices began at 9:30 and were closed to the public. Pincha's return to the Superliga will be next Monday when they visit a tough Independiente in Avellaneda at 21:15.
"Independiente is a very dynamic team with a lot of time working together; it is one of the best teams in Argentine football today," Bernardi concluded.
