The 'Pulga' scored but it wasn't enough: River became champion
No puede con su genio. Luis Rodríguez, better known as 'Pulga', caught everyone's attention in the final of the Copa Argentina against River Plate in Mendoza, minutes before the start of the match, when after the draw and the customary photo between captains, he dared to pass the ball between the referee's legs. The action has already gone viral on YouTube.
River Plate was crowned bicampeon of the Copa Argentina today after defeating Atlético Tucumán 2-1 in the final, and closed the year fulfilling the minimum of at least one title per year since Marcelo Gallardo took over as coach in 2014.
With goals from Ignacio Scocco and Ignacio Fernández, the 'river' team repeated the crown they had achieved in 2016, against a rival that had achieved the temporary equalizer through, precisely, 'Pulga' Rodríguez.
After this conquest, Boca remains the biggest winner of this trophy with three titles (1969, 2011/12 and 2014/15), followed by River's two in a list completed by Arsenal (2012/13) and Huracán (2013/14) with one title.
