The Spiderman event had a greater reach after being promoted by the player Julian Alvarez, who is related to the Spiderman character due to his goal celebrations and one of his nicknames is "The Spider."

After several weeks of waiting since the first call on social media, the day finally arrived. On Sunday, October 29, 2023, thousands of people went to the Obelisco de Buenos Aires dressed as Spiderman, one of the most popular Marvel characters in comics.
The goal was to surpass the previous world record held by Malaysia, a country where 685 people were able to gather. Now, the Guinness record belongs to the Argentinians, who managed to gather more than 2,000 'Spidermans' at the Obelisco. The videos quickly went viral on social media and were celebrated by the locals.
The 'Spidermans' event at the Obelisco was initiated by Uki Deane via Instagram. In the original post, he assures that he is looking to break a new Guinness record for the "largest concentration of people dressed as Spider-Man." As expected, he finally succeeded and downtown Buenos Aires was filled with people in their best costumes.
"Everyone is invited to come, it can be men, women, children, everyone is invited. You can improvise with a mask or even paint your face," explained the event promoter, who shared a form to gather the information of the people who joined this event at the Obelisco.
