Agent of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, Mino Raiola, has confirmed that he will negotiate the goalkeeper's contract renewal with AC Milan and that he will propose an official meeting with the club at the end of the U21 European Championship.
"Friendly tweet between Gigi (Donnarumma) and me. After the European Championship we will meet with AC Milan. Now the national team is important," Raiola said on his official Twitter account.
The agent's message comes after Gianluigi Donnarumma declared through Instagram his "absolute love" for AC Milan and that he will negotiate his continuity, although he later claimed that this message was the work of hackers and closed the account.
However, a few hours after Gianluigi Donnarumma's Instagram account was closed, Raiola confirmed his willingness to meet with AC Milan to renegotiate the contract, which expires on June 30, 2018.
The two parties had already met on June 15, when Gianluigi Donnarumma rejected a five-year proposal in exchange for around 4 million euros per season, stating that he preferred to leave the club at the end of the next campaign.
AC Milan and Gianluigi Donnarumma will meet at the end of the U21 European Championship of the Italian national team, in which the "azzurri" will face Spain in the semifinals.
The 18-year-old goalkeeper is one of the best talents in world football and has received offers from several top-level clubs, according to Raiola, after rejecting AC Milan's initial proposal.
