Bayern Munich is a club in the ascendancy in the Frauen-Bundesliga.
Last year’s nail-biting finish, which say the Bavarians clinch the top spot over Wolfsburg on the final matchday, is not likely to be repeated. Instead, this time Bayern are set to steamroll its way early — Sunday’s 5-1 victory over MSV Duisburg now leaves Bayern seven points clear of their closest rivals at the top of the table.
It is now an incredible 35-game domestic league unbeaten streak for the Frauen.

Duisburg got the scoring started early through Taryn Ries, just before half-time. But Bayern’s Giulia Gwinn equalized less than five minutes into the second half, Georgia Stanway added a second only minutes later, and from then the fireworks were just beginning. Magdalena Eriksson scored just past the hour mark and Jovana Damnjanović and Sydney Lohmann added one more apiece in the game’s closing minutes.
