The Betis captain, famous for his charisma and good humor, leaves football after a 23-year career, most of them at Betis, although he also played for Valencia, Malaga, and Fiorentina.

Joaquín made his debut with Betis in 2000 at just 19 years old, starting a career in which he won three Copa del Rey titles, two of them with Betis (2005, 2022) and one with Valencia (2008).

The Betis captain also played for Spain, participating in 51 matches between 2002 and 2007, scoring four goals.

With the national team, Joaquín played in the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup, the 2006 Germany World Cup, and the 2004 Euro Cup.

Joaquín's charisma has gone beyond sports to make him a media character who last year combined his performance on the field with hosting a television interview program.
