Stockholm Dota 2 Major: Beastcoast eliminates world champion Team Spirit from the tournament [VIDEO]

The Peruvian team defeated the current world champion Team Spirit in a resounding manner by 2 to 0 and eliminated them from the ESL One Stockholm 2022 tournament.

Beastcoast achieved the heroic. After intense matches, the Peruvian team eliminated Team Spirit, the reigning world champion of the popular video game Dota 2, by 2-0. Thus, the team secured a top 8 in the important ESL One Stockholm 2022 tournament, which distributes half a million dollars in prizes.

As we remember, the ESL One Stockholm 2022 is a competition (also known as a Major) that marks the return of Dota 2 tournaments to in-person events, after the first competition of the season was canceled at the beginning of the year due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19. All the hopes and expectations of Dota's creators, Valve, are set on this Major.

Likewise, Beastcoast is made up of four Peruvian players and one Bolivian. The team represents South America alongside Thunder Awaken, another team still in competition.

Regarding the fierce series, Beastcoast had the obligation to achieve victory against Team Spirit, as a loss would confirm their elimination. However, the South American team offered their best version and sealed the victory by 2-0 against Team Spirit, the current world champion.

Throughout the two matches, the most outstanding players were the Peruvians Jean Pierre 'Chris Luck' Gonzales, Elvis 'Scofield' De la Cruz, and the Bolivian Adrián 'Wisper' Céspedes, who were focused during the battles and secured the most important team fights.

Thanks to this victory, Beastcoast secured a place among the top 8 teams in the ESL One Stockholm 2022. This translates to a minimum prize of US$12,500 and 240 points for the Dota Pro Circuit leaderboard.
