Juan Anguix, president of Elche, said on Thursday to EFE that football fans from all over Spain would not forgive sports authorities if they did not allow Elche's registration in La Liga next season due to a debt that he described as non-existent. The leader recalled that the Elche club, relegated to Segunda División on June 5 by the Unique Judge of the Professional Football League (LFP), settled the debt with the Tax Agency before June 30, so its current deficit with the public administration is zero.
"Spain would not forgive it if they don't let Elche register in La Liga due to a debt that no longer exists," Anguix insisted, pointing out that the possible administrative relegation of the Elche team would be "the only case in the history of this country where the club will be harmed."
In this regard, the leader added: "We are aware that several teams have been allowed to compete without obtaining a positive certificate from the Tax Agency, something that will not happen with us because we are up to date."
Juan Anguix assured that the board of directors of Elche "has been working since the first day against the clock to solve problems" and highlighted the existing communion in the environment of the club in support and defense of the team.
"The union between the Board and the fans is total, despite attempts to divide us," Anguix stressed to Efe, reiterating his desire for the Administrative Sports Court (TAD), the legal body that must decide on the appeal filed by Elche after its relegation, "to make a decision as soon as possible" to start planning for the next season.
