Busy Weekend for Sergio Perez and Force India
No one had a busier weekend than Sergio Perez and his team, Force India, as their hospitality area was the most visited.
All attendees wanted to wish the Jalisco driver good luck, and this Sunday, Carlos Slim Helu and Emilio Azcarraga Jean happened to be in the same place.
The two telecommunications businessmen, who were partners in the past, spent some time together as Slim Helu, owner of CARSO Group, was with his family before the race, very close to Checo, as one of the main sponsors of his team, Force India.
Azcarraga Jean, from Grupo Televisa, walked through the paddock during the weekend and spent some moments with the Mexican driver before he headed to the track after the drivers' parade.
Among the visits Perez received at his pits were former president Felipe Calderon, regular attendee at Formula One races, Santos Laguna club president Alejandro Irraragorri, and former Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete.
The reigning team for this season, Mercedes, attracted most of the attention, as well as the most international celebrities, with former heavyweight champion boxer Lennox Lewis, 15-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams, and former Barcelona player Carles Puyol showing their support.
The podium once again took center stage, with the excitement of the 30,000 people inside the stadium cheering for the winners, but there was a moment of confusion as Max Verstappen was removed from the third position after the race, and his spot was taken by Sebastian Vettel.
