No Mercy will have a spectacular match for the WWE World Championship as its main event. The current champion AJ Styles will face John Cena and Dean Ambrose in a triple threat match that has already heated up in the last edition of SmackDown prior to the event.
AJ Styles entered the ring of the blue brand proclaiming that he has the opportunity to defeat John Cena and Dean Ambrose at the same time to retain his championship at No Mercy despite the doubts that still exist in a certain sector of the WWE audience.
The 'Lunatic', who lost the title at WWE Backlash, came to interrupt AJ Styles' speech and belittled his victories over John Cena in past events, something that didn't sit well with the 15-time champion, who also joined the discussion.
They went at each other. John Cena couldn't stand being told that he is far from equaling the legend of Ric Flair, despite being just one championship away from reaching the record of 16 coronations that the 'Nature Boy' had in his WWE career. The wrestler from West Newbury, Massachusetts, attacked Ambrose and threw AJ Styles out of the ring to show that he is more current than ever. The 'Phenomenal' returned to action and with a forearm smash from the top rope, he once again took hold of the coveted title.
Ambrose's revenge. The closing of SmackDown made it clear that the fight on Sunday, October 9th, will be spectacular, as Dean Ambrose managed to recover from Cena's attack and surprisingly attacked AJ Styles with a 'Dirty Deeds' on the ramp. The 'Lunatic' held onto the belt and left the final image before No Mercy 2016.
This Sunday, October 9th, at 7:00 pm, WWE No Mercy will take place at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. This event is being held again since 2008 when Chris Jericho defeated Shawn Michaels and retained the World Heavyweight Championship in a ladder match.
