UFC star Jon Jones denies threatening testing agent at his home - ESPN

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones denies threatening a testing agent at his home during a drug testing sample collection on March 30.

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones denies threatening a testing agent at his home during a drug testing sample collection on March 30.

A testing agent for the UFC's anti-doping program has filed a police report in Albuquerque, New Mexico, alleging heavyweight champion Jon Jones assaulted and threatened her life during a sample collection on March 30.

Crystal Martinez, the agent for Drug Free Sport International, filed the report with Albuquerque Police on Friday. Martinez alleged to police that Jones, 36, temporarily took her phone and threatened to kill her during a sample collection at his residence at 4 p.m. The report, which was obtained by ESPN, includes an arrest summons for Jones, but there is currently no online record of him being charged criminally.

Jones commented on the allegations via social media Saturday and posted a video that appears to show two testing agents leaving his home on March 30 without incident.

"I want to address reports about me allegedly threatening a drug tester's life and taking a phone," Jones wrote on Instagram. "I want to clarify that there is a video showing both drug testers leaving my home after the testing session, where we exchanged a high five and a hug. Although I was frustrated with the unprofessionalism and used profanity out of frustration it ended friendly and amicably, nothing threatening at all."

According to the report, Martinez claimed Jones was initially cooperative with the testing agents but became agitated when he was unable to immediately provide a urine sample. Martinez goes on to allege that Jones appeared intoxicated and told the agents, 'Why you f---ing people come so early, do you know what happens to people who come to my house they end up dead." She also alleges Jones threatened to sue them.

The officer handling the report noted he reviewed video on Martinez's phone in which Jones appears to state, 'Here [is] f---ing Jerome and his girlfriend in my garage," before cutting off.

Jones is widely considered to be the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. He has had multiple legal issues outside of competition, including several DUIs and a hit-and-run felony in 2015. He was arrested in 2021 in Las Vegas on a charge of domestic battery. The charge was dropped later that year in a plea agreement.

Jones was scheduled to defend his championship against Stipe Miocic last November, but he was forced to withdraw because of injury. He does not currently have a fight scheduled.
