LAS VEGAS – Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal kept it professional for their first faceoff promoting their boxing rematch on June 1 in Los Angeles.
The former UFC stars threw a few verbal jabs, but when it was time to square up, they did so without incident during a kickoff press conference on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Diaz and Masvidal first met in the UFC octagon at UFC 244 in 2019. The fight was called off at the end of the third round when the cageside doctor ruled Diaz couldn’t continue due to a cut he suffered during the fight. Diaz campaigned for an MMA rematch, but the bout never came to fruition.
Then, after Masvidal retired from MMA and Diaz took on a boxing career, the fighters and their promotional companies put together a rematch in the squared circle.
