Muhammad Ali
Muhammad Ali passed away last Friday due to a respiratory infection. He starred in one of the most memorable boxing matches in history. But this match didn't take place in the ring, but within the pages of a comic, where he managed to knock out Superman.
This famous comic was published in 1978 as a limited edition. Within these 72 pages, you can see the confrontation between Muhammad Ali and the most famous superhero of all time, who would decide the best fighter on Earth.
In the plot of this comic, an extraterrestrial species challenges humans, with the idea of facing the best fighter of their species against the best fighter on Earth. Superman offers himself for this challenge, but Muhammad Ali claims that the superhero is not human, so he would be the most suitable for the fight.
This triggered a fight between the two, where Superman could not use any of his powers besides his muscles. Due to this, Muhammad Ali had no trouble knocking out the Man of Steel, in a fight that was broadcasted on intergalactic television on thousands of planets.
Later on, Muhammad Ali would also knock out the alien Hun'Ya, avoiding an invasion of Earth. "Superman, we are the greatest!" the boxer would say to the superhero at the end of this story, while giving him a hug.
The prominence that Muhammad Ali has in this comic reflects the relevance he had in the society of his time, where he became the most famous character in the world.
