The New Day retains the WWE Tag Team Championship against The Vaudevillains at Extreme Rules 2016
Earlier, The New Day cleverly managed to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship against The Vaudevillains at Extreme Rules 2016.
The match ended when Big E delivered a vicious Spear to Aiden English, who was on the apron, while Xavier Woods was the legal man in the ring battling against Simon Gotch. However, the referee was distracted by the action outside the ring and Kofi Kingston landed a devastating kick to Gotch's head, leaving him motionless on the canvas.

When Simon attempted to recover, Xavier Woods hit him with a powerful spinning kick to the head and managed to secure the three count to ensure more days as champions for The New Day. The Vaudevillains debuted new attire.
