Antonio Cesaro reappeared in the latest edition of Raw facing AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, and Chris Jericho in a 4-way match for the opportunity to compete for the WWE World Championship.
The Swiss returned after overcoming a right shoulder injury that kept him out for 4 months, so he did not have a place at WrestleMania 32. After Kevin Owens' cowardly attack on Sami Zayn, the Canadian did not fully recover, so he was not included in the match.
This led Shane McMahon, in charge of Raw for one night, to give an opportunity to the recovered Antonio Cesaro to participate in the 4-way match to the surprise of the entire arena.
