Two Challenges for WrestleMania 32 Launched on Monday Night Raw
With WrestleMania 32 just 20 days away, the card for the big event has only five confirmed matches out of the usual nine. However, two new challenges were issued tonight, March 14, during Monday Night Raw.
The first one was more physical than verbal, as after being defeated in the opening title match of the show, The League of Nations brutally attacked The New Day, giving the WWE Tag Team Champions the biggest beatdown they have received since forming as a group over a year ago.
Later in the show, the challenge was formalized in an interview with Renee Young:
We are issuing an official challenge to those three clowns: The New Day vs. The League of Nations at WrestleMania. And believe me, if they accept, it won't be a comedy, it will be a tragedy.
This match had been rumored since the unexpected rivalry between both groups started at Fastlane, from which point Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods have begun their slow transition to babyface, where they have been very well received.
The second challenge of the night came from Ryback, who has been hovering close to Kalisto and his United States Championship in recent weeks. Today, the Big Guy achieved a crushing victory over Sin Cara, the champion's partner, and made clear his intentions to end the masked wrestler's reign:
That's what happens when a good Big Guy beats a good Little Guy. Believe me, size matters. So Kalisto, little guy, how about putting that United States Championship on the line against the Big Guy at WrestleMania?
This match came about much less expectedly, as the fate of Kalisto, Ryback, and the United States Championship for WrestleMania was not clear until these two wrestlers started interacting a couple of weeks ago.
Once these two matches are confirmed, which could happen this Thursday on SmackDown or next week, the WrestleMania 32 card will be almost complete.
But also, tonight we had a little glimpse at another women's match for the big event, as the events on Raw seem to indicate that we will see Lana, Naomi & Tamina vs. Paige, Brie Bella & Alicia Fox in a match that will open up space for the women who, despite working consistently over the past year, have not been able to break into the title scene.
What do you think? Do you like how WrestleMania 32 is shaping up?
