What caused the change of plans for Brock Lesnar in Roadblock?

In previous years, plans for WrestleMania have been so solid that WWE has the complete card months in advance, but this time changes are still happening week after week, as we have seen in the case of the Intercontinental Championship match and AJ Styles' role. They have also not agreed on whether the Bulletproof Bálor Club should debut before, during or after WrestleMania.

And in Brock Lesnar's case, the original plan (from a year ago) was to have the ultimate match between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32, but Vince McMahon decided to fast-track the end of the feud at Hell in a Cell, so that Lesnar would face The Rock at WrestleMania and Undertaker would face John Cena, unaware that neither of the two rivals would be available.

While Undertaker has already been scheduled against Shane McMahon, in what is currently the most interesting match on the card, Brock Lesnar would be facing Bray Wyatt.

But with the change of plans, Dean Ambrose (who would be AJ Styles' opponent) is now the sacrificial lamb offered to the beast incarnate, while the Lesnar-Wyatt match was moved up to Roadblock, even though the original match was supposed to be Lesnar vs. Luke Harper.

Continuing: Yesterday was Roadblock, and it was not saved from poor planning, starting with the name, which was March to WrestleMania, without considering that sometimes WrestleManias are in March.

With Lesnar, someone realized that they had already thought of having him face Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam, so why burn the match now?

The solution they came up with on the fly was a handicap match: Lesnar vs. Wyatt and Luke Harper. And to test if the idea worked, they also used it for the show on Friday in Montreal, which was originally supposed to be Lesnar vs. Harper one-on-one.

With their seemingly clever solution, Bray Wyatt doesn't receive the tag or interacts minimally and it's Harper who takes all the punishment from Lesnar, who won the match two nights in a row without damaging Wyatt's value.

But did it really not damage him? Wrestling fans don't always remember details, but results, and by the time they announce that Lesnar and Wyatt will face each other at SummerSlam, there will be no shortage of people pointing out that it's not appealing, because Lesnar defeated Wyatt and Harper two nights in a row in Canada.

And then, Vince Russo and Jim Cornette will mock.
