1x1 from Brazil: only Robinho was saved in a gray Canarinha.

Robinho was the best in Brazil, but that's not saying much. The canarinha was not good, Thiago Silva, terrible.

Robinho was the best in Brazil, but that's not saying much. The canarinha was not good, Thiago Silva, terrible.

Jefferson:

Possibly his best match in the tournament and the one in which he has had to intervene the most. However, he still fails to catch the ball, every shot becomes a rebound and, in many occasions, a second chance for the opponent. In the penalty shootout, he couldn't save any shot.

Dani Alves:

He arrived with muscular discomfort and it showed. The only thing remembered from him in the first half was an attack in which he assisted Robinho for the goal. He played poorly in defense, struggling with Benitez's attacks.

Filipe Luis:

He has improved, but he still looked far from his best level. With the left wing crowded, he sought solutions by cutting inside. His performance dropped in the second half, as Derlis González took advantage of it and created a lot of danger.

Thiago Silva:

He struggled with every aerial ball aimed at Santa Cruz or Valdez. Precisely in one of those balls, he made an infantile mistake and committed a penalty. An absurd penalty just like the one he committed against Chelsea in the Champions League. He is a repeat offender, he can't make such major mistakes.

Miranda:

He was better than his teammate in the center of the defense, although he also struggled in the air. His anticipation skills prevented several troubles for Brazil. He scored the penalty he took in the shootout.

Elías:

He had a good first half. Finally, he participated in his team's game, and he saw Alves' run well in the play of the goal. As the minutes went by, he lost presence on the field.

Fernandinho:

A bit overshadowed, the slight improvement of Elías took away his protagonism, and it shouldn't be like that. He couldn't connect with Brazil's attacking players. He scored the first penalty.

Willian:

He didn't shine offensively, but he did invaluable work for Brazil. He dropped back a lot to help with the ball's distribution and was very attentive in supporting Filipe in defensive tasks on the left side. He was substituted in the second half.

Coutinho:

He started very involved, but he faded away. The first few minutes of the match made us think that we would finally see the best of this player, but it didn't happen. As the minutes went by, he disappeared. If Brazil wants to reach the final, they need more from him. He converted his penalty with skill in the shootout.

Robinho:

Dunga has trusted him and Robinho has taken advantage of it. He was one of the best for Brazil, unfortunately that doesn't say much. He was much better in the first half than in the second. He scored Brazil's goal after the team's only good play.

Firmino:

Completely disappeared. Liverpool's latest signing still hasn't shown his worth. His teammates couldn't find him in an advantageous position at any time. It's true that the team barely combined, and it's difficult for a forward with his characteristics to appear.

Douglas Costa:

Dunga brought him into the game to help Dani Alves on the right wing. But he didn't help in defense, nor did he touch the ball in attack. He also missed one of the penalties in the shootout.

Tardelli:

He came in the second half seeking more pressure on the Paraguayan defense, but he couldn't achieve it. He also didn't participate much in the team's game.

Everton Ribeiro:

He came on in the final moments, with no time to prove anything. He missed the second penalty in the shootout.
