As we have already reported, the relationship between Triple H and Vince McMahon has continued to cool down, and one of the reasons is, apparently, the success NXT has had.

It is no secret that Vince is too proud, and he tends to have a revisionist concept of history in which he turns out to be the greatest promoter of all time. And in reality he is, but it is not up to him to diminish the merits of his competition.

If in 2001 the WWE vs. WCW story failed it was because McMahon made the WCW wrestlers never appear as a real threat. If the revived ECW failed it was because McMahon did not want to follow his son Shane's idea: To make ECW a truly separate company, run by Shane himself and creatively managed by Paul Heyman and exclusively broadcasted on the internet to avoid restrictions regarding classification.

That is to say, in the end, Vince McMahon wanted WCW and ECW to fail again once they were under his ownership.

And Vince McMahon owns NXT, but he sees with suspicion that the success of that brand is attributed to Triple H, and that is why he insists that NXT should only be a project to develop talent and not a separate brand. Triple H has suggested that the new recruits from the Performance Center compete in EVOLVE before moving on to NXT and/or the main roster — as WWE worked with USWA, UPW, and OVW in the past. But Vince says it is pointless if they already have NXT.

Richard Gray, from Wrestling News World, reveals another disagreement, which has to do with the debut of the Bulletproof Bálor Club:

"Vince wants to debut Bálor, along with Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, on Monday Night Raw next week, in Chicago. Hunter has argued that Bálor should stay in NXT until after WrestleMania, as he still holds the NXT Championship. Vince does not care about the NXT title, and this brings to light the clash of philosophies between him and Triple H about the purpose of NXT and its importance in the hierarchical order."
