It was a matter of time: a convertible Camaro follows every coupe Camaro
The sixth generation of the successful pony car has now been presented, although we'll have to wait until 2016 to see it on sale.
Minimal changes compared to the closed version
The changes compared to the closed version are minimal, maintaining an identical aesthetic except, of course, for the absence of a hard top. In its place, there is a canvas roof with thermal and sound insulation coating that operates through an electro-hydraulic system. It can be opened from the car keys, and the process can be done while moving at speeds of up to 48 km/h.
Lightweight materials for a reduced weight
Despite the reinforcements in the chassis that a convertible entails compared to the coupe, Chevrolet has opted for the use of lightweight materials to reduce the weight of the entire vehicle by 90 kg compared to its predecessor.
Likely same engine options as the coupe
There is no official confirmation, but everything points to the engine lineup of the Camaro Convertible being the same as its coupe counterpart: 2.0 with 275 HP, 3.6 V6 with 335 HP, and 6.2 V8 with 455 HP.
