Enrique "El Fuerte" Barzola, the new UFC fighter, won the fight thanks to his wrestling skills: he achieved five takedowns and dominated his opponent on the ground with elbow strikes to the face and punches to the abdomen.
Gutiérrez could never free himself from 'El Fuerte', who pressed throughout the fight and showed great physical condition. The Mexican fighter ended up with a cut on his forehead.
Thus, Enrique Barzola becomes the second Peruvian to reach the UFC. The first one was Tony de Souza.
