Rusev had not appeared on WWE screens since May, but that changed two weeks ago when he made his return with a renewed character: stronger and more dominant. Mike Kanellis and EC3 were his first victims.
And, as if that weren't enough, the Bulgarian has just achieved something he had been seeking for years: becoming a citizen of the United States of America. He announced it on his social media.
"It was a long journey. 14 years trying. There were many difficulties and obstacles along the way, but in the end, who cares? I am proud to be American!" wrote Rusev on Instagram.
He accompanied his text with a photo of him holding the flag of the United States. Among the wrestlers who have congratulated him are Chris Jericho, EC3 himself, Ryback, and Stu Bennett (known in WWE as Wade Barrett).
