In the upcoming SmackDown, which will be broadcasted on Friday, October 4th on FOX in the United States, Kofi Kingston will have the most important fight of his career, as he must defend his WWE title against none other than Brock Lesnar.
However, member of The New Day has decided to take a break from his preparation to speak with the Sports Illustrated program, where he talked about AEW and the impact of social media.
"It's great that we now have competition and, honestly, I'm quite happy, especially for Cody. I know him very well and I'm sure he will provide new opportunities for many wrestlers. We have to congratulate him for that," said Kofi in statements released by Fightful.
"But, I also have to say that AEW is not for me. I am focused on becoming the greatest champion in WWE history. And I don't have much time to watch fights from other companies. However, I love competition because it makes everyone give their best," he added.
Regarding social media, the WWE champion said: "The good thing about them is that now people can interact with the superstars. It wasn't possible before. For example, on Xavier Woods' channel, UpUpDownDown, you can see the wrestlers outside of their characters. People want to see that, they want to see who they are beyond what is shown on television."
