Valencia Firebats is the new champion of the Serie A of the National American Football League

The leaders of the regular season signed their excellent season by defeating Badalona Dracs in the grand final, played in Badalona (30-20). An authentic match between the two best teams in the country, which began to be decided in the first half where the Valencians were superior (21-0), under the undisputed leadership of their quarterback Chris Debowski, who was chosen as the MVP of the final. Debowski scored 3 TD passes in that first half of the match and after the break, when Dracs approached on the scoreboard, he finished his game with another touchdown run. Without a doubt, the best ending to a spectacular season for Firebats QB, who has thrown a total of 26 TD passes during the competition.

The work of the offensive line of Valencia Firebats was also crucial, giving Debowski time to connect with his receivers. The defense of Dracs could not reach the Valencian QB, who opened the scoring with a pass to Javi Martínez (7-0). With this score the first quarter ended, but the scenario did not change in the second quarter, with Ezequiel Martí's players dominating in attack and defense. With Curtis Cannon acting as QB, Dracs' attack, mainly relying on the running game, failed to make progress. A great pass from Debowski to Alejandro Silvestre, in a broken play, and another to Pau Palau, before the break, left the final very much in favor of the dominant Firebats (21-0). An interception for Dracs by Joan Carles Bartra a few seconds before half-time was the only joy for the Badalona team, but it had no consequences for the scoreboard.

The visit to the locker room reactivated the Badalona team, and Curtis Cannon, the top scorer this season, was able to score the first points for Dracs with a personal run (21-6). However, in the two-point conversion attempt, Firebats intercepted and returned the ball to the end zone, adding those two points to their tally (23-6). Despite this setback, Dracs continued to fight and at the beginning of the last quarter, Cannon reduced the difference again (23-13). There was still time for Oscar Calatayud's team to stage a comeback, but then Chris Debowski appeared. A 21-yard run by him gave Firebats a 30-13 lead on the scoreboard with 4:51 left in the game and made the final very difficult for Dracs. Even so, the Badalona team, with pride, did not give up, and a spectacular kickoff return by Joan Carles Bartra, covering the entire field, allowed them to continue dreaming (30-20). The feat, however, was very difficult and Firebats, managing the clock to perfection, did not let themselves be surprised again. With Debowski and RB Héctor Pertegaz moving the chains with the running game, the Valencians ran out the clock until they kneeled down and celebrated their fourth league title. In addition, they get revenge from last year, when Dracs won the final on the last play.
