The 24/7 championship is one of the best things that has happened to WWE in recent months. It's so entertaining that it is not limited to the wrestling ring, but can be defended anywhere.
R-Truth, the current champion, defended the title twice during the Comic-Con convention in San Diego, California.
While being interviewed by IGN journalist to talk about his experience with the fans, Shane Helms, better known in wrestling as The Hurricane, tried to pin him for a 3 count to win the title. Truth reacted and his rival had to back off.
However, it didn't end there. Seconds later, Drave Maverick, former 24/7 champion, also entered the set to go for the pin, but without success.
R-Truth, after the two successful defenses, stormed off the interview frustrated.
This new championship is a modern version of the Hardcore Championship, a title with the same 24/7 rules, but added violence and extreme matches in the 90s. Back then, it was common for wrestlers to fight in their homes or shopping malls for the title.
