The father of footballer William Tesillo spoke out about the large number of threats they receive, after his son missed a decisive penalty against Chile which led to Colombia being eliminated from the Copa America in the quarter-finals.

"In the face of the threats that have been made against us, we only pray. We have to remember that this is football and you can win or lose", said William Tesillo father to Caracol Radio.
The threatening messages received by the family of the Colombian defender even came with the image of Andrés Escobar, who was shot by hitmen after scoring an own goal during the 1994 World Cup.
"I was convinced that my son would score the penalty. No one else dared to take the fifth one and he stepped up to take it", concluded the parent of the Colombian player.
William Tesillo, a 29-year-old defender who plays for León in Mexico, has chosen not to make any statements and is focused solely on enjoying his vacation.
However, in Colombia and around the world, through social media, fans in general have condemned the threats received by Tesillo and his family.
