Sting's WWE Career
Sting was one of the best and most iconic wrestlers in the 90s. However, he joined WWE when his career was already coming to an end. And there is a reason for this.
According to wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, Sting didn't join WWE earlier because there was never a real interest from both parties. It was only in 2014 that contact was made.
On the other hand, Sting didn't have an interest in working for WWE due to the demanding schedule. Despite the possibility of making more money, it meant being away from his family for several weeks.
WWE, on the other hand, didn't offer anything concrete to Sting. Although it wasn't specified why, it is speculated that it was because they didn't have a necessity to have him on their roster.
Sting officially retired from professional wrestling in 2016. He suffered a major neck injury and at the age of 56, he decided to step aside.
