Iturbe, born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) but naturalized Paraguayan, arrived at an airport in Milan in the Italian afternoon carrying five suitcases, as seen in some videos circulating on the internet, and will undergo medical examinations prior to his signing with Genoa on Friday.
The winger, who has already played in Italy with the jerseys of Hellas Verona, Roma, and Torino, is preparing to return to Serie A two and a half years later after experiences in Mexico with Tijuana and Pumas.
If the operation is finalized, the Paraguayan will join goalkeeper Mattia Perin, defender Andrea Masiello, Swiss midfielder Valon Behrami, Swedish counterpart Sebastian Eriksson, and forward Mattia Destro as new additions to Genoa, the second-to-last team in the Italian league.
Iturbe will seek to relaunch his career in Serie A, where he scored eight goals with Verona and played and scored a goal in the Champions League with Roma in the 2014-2015 season.
