Women and children attend a WWE event in Saudi Arabia
In other countries, it is normal, but not in Saudi Arabia: women and children were present at a professional wrestling show of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), an event that previously only men could attend in the Arab country.
In 2014, WWE held an event in which women were denied access, but the Friday night show - called the "Greatest Royal Rumble" - in the city of Jeddah allowed the entry of both women and minors, who were able to see live the stars of American wrestling, such as John Cena, among others.
The event is part of a series of changes promoted by assertive 32-year-old Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
WWE is extremely popular in the Middle East. The organization has an Arabic website and has held events in other Persian Gulf nations.
