Famous NBA Player Karl Malone Returns to Wrestling Ring
It took almost 20 years for the legendary Karl Malone to step back into a wrestling ring. He did it last night on January 2nd at the first SmackDown Live of 2018, and he did it thanks to another legend, Bobby Roode.
O
It happened after the end of the Blue Brand's broadcast, when the Canadian invited the Utah Jazz legend, who finished his career with the Los Angeles Lakers, to step into the ring and receive the fans' ovation as part of the show in Orlando, Florida.
After his appearance, Malone gave the following statements to the official WWE YouTube channel:
"It was amazing. I had the opportunity to fulfill a dream by wrestling alongside my friend Diamond Dallas Page against Dennis Rodman and Hulk Hogan. Now I met Goldust, I was a big fan of his dad back in the days of the Von Erich, 'Cowboy' Bill Watts, and Dusty Rhodes, I simply loved him, so at the end, being able to get a taste of that, I loved it and it was fun."
"I want to have a little more action. I see these guys every Monday and Tuesday, so I feel like I'm still a part of it. I simply loved it. I simply loved it. My kids had the opportunity to be there, so yeah, I hope to have the chance to come back, there are a couple of guys I would like to face."
Let's remember that NBA Hall of Fame member, "The Mailman", teamed up with Diamond Dallas Page against Dennis Rodman and Hulk Hogan in a match at the Bash at the Beach 1998 Pay-Per-View event. In fact, when he was shown on the TV broadcast, Malone remembered his friend DDP:
